When we say “we” or “us”, we’re referring to LightMail LLC, a Kansas limited liability company. When we say “LightMail”, we’re referring to the web application software hosted at my.lightmail.com. When we say “Website”, we’re referring to the website hosted at lightmail.com. When we say “you” or “your”, we’re referring to the person or organization who is registered to use LightMail or to the person who is accessing the Website.

Changes

If changes are made to this Privacy Policy, we will post them to the Website. Changes are effective on the day on which they are posted to the Website.

What This Policy Covers

  1. Information you provide to us, whether or not we requested it from you.
  2. Information you submit to LightMail in the normal course of business.
  3. The name, email address, and other personal information about each individual user your organization assigns a LightMail account.
  4. Information submitted to LightMail by your customers, such as applying an electronic signature on a document.

Information Use and Disclosure

We may use your personal information to:

  1. Provide you with customer support services,
  2. Promote LightMail and its features to you,
  3. Improve LightMail and the Website,
  4. Notify you of system outages or other important alerts,
  5. Bill you and collect money from you,
  6. Meet legal requirements like court orders and subpoenas, and
  7. Provide information to advisors (like our attorneys).

We will not share any information provided to us by an organization or individual with any party not authorized to have that information. Authorized parties are those responsible for delivering functionality required by LightMail. We do not sell any information that is collected by LightMail.

We reserve the right to review any information submitted to LightMail for the purposes of ensuring LightMail and its supporting infrastructure are operating normally and to provide support to our customers.

Information Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect and store. LightMail and this website use SSL to protect the transfer of all sensitive information. The LightMail servers reside in physically secure facilities that are accessible only by authorized personnel. If there is a security breach by an unauthorized person that materially affects you or any of your customers, we will notify you as soon as possible.

It is your responsibility to keep your LightMail password safe at all times. We are not responsible for any unauthorized information disclosure or system access resulting from you revealing your password in any way to another person or system. LightMail passwords are stored with a one-way encryption algorithm, meaning we cannot view or retrieve them if they are lost. If you forget your password, you can reset it by clicking the “I forgot my password” link on the LightMail login page.
